New two-story 30,000sf library joint venture between the City of Houston and Harris County. Located on last undeveloped parcel of Town Square, the densely treed site backs up on to Bens Branch bayou. The building was discreetly placed in a clearing on the site – giving a ‘tree-house’-like effect – as seen through large panoramic windows on the second floor. The program included a myriad of special gathering spaces that make this facility operate much more like a community center than a typical library. Technologically up-to-date with more than 200 available user computer workstations, custom low-profile library shelving lighting, classic modern furnishings and an award-winning environmental graphics package.
