dupont sabine river works maintenance building
orange, texas

New two-story 50,000sf pre-engineered metal building frame clad with insulated metal panels to consolidate maintenance operations at an existing polyethylene plant. Also incorporated into the building are administrative offices, and a large break room and locker room area for the entire campus use. Special equipment in the maintenance bays include a 25 ton bridge crane spanning the transverse length of the building with three adjunct jib cranes, and three other 2 ton monorails located in the shop areas for painting and welding. Developed document set from the Owner-provided schematic design bridging documents. A full BIM coordination model – with components modeled by the actual subcontractors performing the work -was continuously updated throughout the documentation phase in order to expedite delivery schedule and anticipate field coordination issues.
